But what about the AI website builder? I tried it out for myself for a creative consulting website. Here’s what I found:
Use and key features
The process was easy and fun, with a well-organized step-by-step guide for setting up a website. There were lots of layout, color, and font options to choose from, all aligned with the brand personality chosen in the beginning.
The process was more handholding through a basic website design. There was no option for AI prompts, which seems to be the main information intake for most AI tools these days. You get a chance to update the visuals and add any additional features after the web-building component.

Here’s a snippet of the creative consultancy website I made. Personally, I really like the site styles and font types available. But again, I didn’t see any option for AI prompts beyond the basic options in the beginning.

Use and key features
Wix leaned into the prompts for its AI website builder. It gives a ton of options for being specific about the vibe and aesthetic that you’re looking for.
I found the site “brief”(The editable paragraph of AI prompts in the visual above) to be easy to use, although the prompts entered didn’t always reflect in the design. The designs themselves were still beautiful and well-made, with further customization available once you get into the editor.

Getting a good prompt saves you a ton of time. Here are a few prompts that you can alter and use to get a solid foundation ready.

- I found Wix to be quite pricey (similar to Squarespace), but they include website hosting, a domain, and all the tools you’ll need to run a website effectively.

Platform #3: Relume
Relume is super comprehensive and builds out a sitemap, website wireframe, and brand style guide to create your website. All from the original prompt! It feels like working with a designer who already knows what you need.
Use and key features
Relume is great for creating the bones and style of your website with little to no design knowledge. The process is straightforward and free to use for a basic one-page. However, it only designs the website and nothing else. You need to export the template to Webflow for hosting and going live. So there are additional costs (and technicalities) to consider.

I found it was ideal for service-based businesses or personal brand websites that are direct and efficient. I generated a dog walking business website in no time, and I’m happy with it!
Use and key features
The process starts with a simple AI prompt to get your main details and preferences down. Then, a questionnaire appears with questions about your industry and business name, as well as the types of sections you need for your website (such as contact page, services, etc.).
I found that the prompt didn’t really influence the design much – I still had to pick a color palette and fonts that appealed to a “quirky and creative dog walking business”.
